Platform Update: New Experience (Non-Production)

UKG has introduced the New Experience interface in non-production environments. This is a significant UI and navigation upgrade and will become the default interface in 2026 R2.

What’s Changing

  • Simplified main menu grouped by Myself, My Team, Administration, and System Configuration
  • Updated visual styling and improved readability
  • Enhanced accessibility (contrast, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support)
  • AI-assisted search and navigation (Bryte Search and Navigate)
  • “My time” tile replaces the traditional My Timecard tile

Operational Impact

  • Training materials should be updated for UAT environments
  • Change management planning should begin ahead of 2026 R2
  • Role-based navigation testing is recommended

How to Enable

  1. Enable the Supports Modern Experience feature switch
  2. Choose one of the following: New Experience only, Classic only, or Toggle option for users

Rotation Schedule Enhancements

Several meaningful improvements were delivered for Rotation Schedule, particularly for publishing control and reporting transparency.

Selective Date-Range Publish

Schedulers can now publish a single rotation row for a specific date range rather than republishing the entire rotation.

  • Reduces unintended open shifts
  • Minimises rework after partial updates
  • Improves schedule stability in live environments

New Reporting APIs

Rotation Schedule now includes expanded APIs to support assignment tracking and reporting.

  • Retrieve employee assignment/unassignment history
  • Query by location or unit (not just job ID)
  • Support multiple employee IDs in a single request
  • Enhanced response identifiers for reconciliation

Clinical Scheduling Extensions (v9.0.8)

This release includes automation and reporting improvements.

PullFilesFromSFTP Task

A new scheduled task supports automated retrieval of files from SFTP into GCP locations.

  • Scheduled file pulls
  • Multi-service support from a shared inbound folder
  • Automated file cleanup post-transfer
  • Logging of transfer outcomes

Scheduling & Timekeeping Stability Fixes

A large number of resolved issues were delivered across Scheduling and Timekeeping.

  • Webhook events correctly trigger on create/update/delete
  • Availability request comments supported via API
  • Payroll extract intermittent failures resolved
  • Holiday credit calculation inconsistencies corrected

Summary for ANZ Customers

  • Stability and API improvement focused release
  • Operationally significant for Rotation Schedule users
  • Strategically important due to the upcoming New Experience UI shift

IT and HRIS teams should prioritise:

  1. New Experience evaluation in NPR
  2. Rotation Schedule feature enablement review
  3. API regression testing (if using integrations)
  4. Clinical Scheduling task configuration review
